Street Medic Training
The Street Medic Training is for people with a variety of experience levels. In the training we use wilderness protocols, assuming that most things a street medic sees are more than an hour from definitive care. This may be due to being in the woods at a gathering, a disaster natural or otherwise, civil unrest, or simply a lack of access to medical care. The Street Medic Training is designed to prepare people to deal with a wide range of medical situations, from life threatening to “Mommy medicine” in a variety of circumstances.
Treatment is based in wilderness medicine with an emphasis on herbal support. The training covers serious and life-threatening situations as well as common problems faced by those who are willing to provide basic medical care to those they find on their streets and in their communities.
We also believe it is vital to prepare street medics to offer basic medical support in times of disaster or civil unrest. Therefore, we include components on organizing medical care in challenging situations. There are a number of role-plays and hand on exercises through out the training so please be prepared to move around. Dress in comfortable, functional clothing.
